On a royal visit to Jamaica, this was the house made ready for Queen Elizabeth II, and it has carried her name ever since. Renovated top to bottom, with a new pool of its own, it sits right on the seafront, the kind of place where the plan is to have no plan. It also runs a whole-house generator and Starlink, so the power and the wifi don't drop, whatever the island's doing. A chef and a breakfast-and-lunch cook run the kitchen — a wide range of dishes, Jamaican favourites included — and the house is looked after by a team guests have asked for by name for years, some here since before the renovation. Take it as two, three or four bedrooms, each air-conditioned with its own bathroom, to suit the size of your group. |
