When Christopher Columbus first visited Jamaica, he described it as the fairest isle that eyes have seen. Jamaica, the largest English-speaking island in the Caribbean, is 146 miles long and 51 miles wide occupying an area of 4,400 square miles. The population is just over two and a half million with high concentrations in the cities and surroundings, especially Kingston, the capital. Most visitors fly into Montego Bay as the North Coast is home to most of the beautiful beaches and other famous visitor attractions, like Dunn's River Falls.
