Our family has been visiting Silver Sands regularly since the early 1990’s and, until recently, has been staying at larger villas ie. Endless Summer, The Orchid House, etc.
More recently Kate and I started visiting Jamaica on our own, just the two of us, and were looking for a smaller villa. Last March we decided to try Casuarina. We were originally concerned that its location, right at the fork in the road leading to the beach, might prove to be too “busy”. We were pleasantly surprised.
Not only does the height of the balcony above the road separate you from the traffic (which is very light and mostly other visitors walking to the beach) but the other amenities make it a great destination. The layout of the villa, with its different levels, the décor and the ability to completely open up the living room are great. The balcony is large, well furnished and above all has a wonderful sea view. And the villa is close to the beach.
On top of all that, Claudette is a great hostess. She is a good cook (we eat mostly “local”), a very attentive housekeeper and good company.
We must have been happy, we have already booked for 2008.
