My family and I have been home now for two weeks and I wanted to set down and write to you and say THANK YOU. Silver Sands is absolutely wonderful. My Dream Vacation....
The Ocean, the Beach, Dreamin' Cottage, the bar & grill, the Staff, Ms Ivey, Nickolet, Tameica. Everyone was just so wonderful and very helpful.
MySilversands website was right on with Dream'n Cottage. The pictures were exactly the way the house looked. It was perfect for the my husband, my daughter & I. We were just steps away from the beach. Who need's a pool when you have that beautiful ocean & beach in your back yard. I do not think I have seen my husband so relaxed. He loves the beach & sun anyway, but with his job we don't get this opportunity very often & believe me he took advantage of it for sure.
I hope that you will post this for everyone to read, because I know I read what others had wrote so I would know what to expect for my first time visit.
So here I go....For everyone that is thinking about visiting My Silver Sands...GO for IT...You will not regret it. This will be a vacation that you will remember for a life time to come & you will want to return year after year just like us. You will get HOOKED...Trust Me.
They pick you up at the airport and are there with a friendly face waiting for you once you walk outside. Our Representative Nickolet & our driver Trevor were all smiles even though it was very late upon our arrival...
Our ride to the house was a little exciting, because we did not know that in Jamaica they drove on the other side of the rode. So for my daughter she was like OH KNOW!!!!! LOOK OUT!!!! It was a trip for sure especially of a night, but Trevor just laughed & said don't worry...no problem mon. He was Great. The trip to the house was about 30 - 45 minute drive. Due to it being night we were not able to see a whole lot. But that was OK Nickloet & Trevor made our trip enjoyable.
Once at the house I could not believe my eyes. I looked at my husband & said this is exactly what it looks like on the website. Nickolet & Trevor made sure that everything was OK for us and asked before they left if they could do anything before they departed for the evening. This is how well they take care of you. Ms Ivey our housekeeper & cook had prepared a meal for us like I had asked for, which was wonderful. She also called to make sure the house was OK & to make sure we found our dinner too. She was a GEM. A lady that will be with my family and I for along time to come. I just wish I could have brought her home with us. She took care of everything for us. We didn't ask for a whole lot so she was always making sure that we had everything we needed. Her cooking was FANTASTIC. When they ask what you would like to eat. Tell your cook that you want to try their dishes. You will not regret it.
We spent a week at Silver Sands and I can tell you I did not want to return home. This is a piece of paradise so peaceful & relaxing. Once you get here you never have to leave unless you want to. We did go into town one day and let me tell you that was a adventure, but everyone needs to go and see for themselves the rest of Jamaica. We went through Duncan's and stopped, Browns Town, Fern Gully Runaway Bay & we stopped in Ocho Rios for a couple of hours to look around. There was a cruise ship docked so things were busy. We didn't climb the falls which I am glad we didn't due to the ship being in. We plan to make an adventure out next time we come to Silver Sands. There are so many things that you can do & see outside of My Silver Sands, but it will cost you. If you are looking things to do all the time and night life, you are coming to the wrong place. Plus it can get costly if you hire a driver every day to go out & into town. Plus that price you pay the driver does not include your cost to get into the Falls or what other attraction you are planning on doing or lunch while you are out.
But we went to relax and enjoy our time together as a family and that is just what we did.
If you want to buy souvenirs to take home, go over to the Fishermans beach. Buy from them & spend your money there. This is how they make their living. We bought several things from Jennifer, Omar and I cannot remember the young guys name but he is very talented. Actually I already have in mind what I am going to have him make for me next year when we come back. We also bought Lobster from the fisherman. We could not believe the price. The first time we bought it was $4.00 a pound and the next time it was only $3.00 a pound. Unbelievable and wonderful....Fresh.
Overall Prem our vacation was the best & right now we can't wait to come back next year.
