Feedback:
I’ve been visiting Silver Sands for 9 consecutive years and, over this period, have rented 31 different villas for myself and the group I bring to Jamaica each summer. This past June, I had the pleasure of staying at Tallawah Villa for 11 days and it easily topped my list as the #1 villa that I’ve experienced at Silver Sands. From the overall design and flow of the home, to the elegant stone and woodwork, to the higher-end linens and furniture, the moment you enter Tallawah, it is clear that the owners and architect paid attention to every single detail. Without question, Tallawah sets a new standard for excellence at Silver Sands, and I say that having stayed at many of Silver Sands’ loveliest properties.
Tallawah has a spacious open floor plan in the main living area; its waterfront location is ideal; and the sea view from the living room, patio, and master bedroom is serene. There is beautiful wooden deck work surrounding the infinity-edged pool, and comfortable outdoor seating in both the sun and the shade. The villa also has mosquito screens over the louvered side windows and for the retracting sliding doors that open up the entire back of the home to the Caribbean. As I mentioned, the living and dining area is wide open but the flow and furniture are arranged in a way that creates distinct and comfortable spaces. There are also numerous ceiling fans overhead in the main living room that keeps the room cool when the sea breeze isn’t blowing.
The master bedroom feels like a private oasis with its own ocean view deck and a spacious glass and tile shower offering the option of a traditional wall mounted or relaxing rain shower head. The 4 additional main bedrooms are well-appointed and spaced out from each other to offer optimal privacy. The 6th bedroom “dormitory” also offers great sleeping arrangements for at least a half-dozen children. Unlike some villas at Silver Sands, good water pressure and hot water are in Tallawah are consistent.
Overall, the villa is superb, and the staff at Tallawah really makes the stay exceptional. Miss Una, Scotty, Richie, Annette, and Kourine are simply wonderful people who treat you like family and make sure that all of your needs are met. And, Una and Scotty prepare some of the consistently best food I’ve ever had. The villa is a little pricey, but if you’re splitting the cost with others or are willing to spend a little extra for an ideal villa, it’s well worth the freight.
Perhaps my wife’s comment upon entering Tallawah best captures the essence and aesthetic of the villa. She said simply, “Can we live here?”
