PATWA Tourism Award for Jamaica

PATWA is the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association. And PATWA has awarded Jamaica the 'Best Emerging Tourism Market'!

The PATWA awards ceremony was held at the recent International Tourism Exchange in Berlin and the award was presented to Jamaica's Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett.

Expressing his happiness, the minister said: "It has been a significant and proud year for Jamaica in terms of being recognised by many of our peers for our tourism product offering and this award for Best Emerging Tourism Market by PATWA is no exception," he said.

Tourism in Jamaica is growing. The recent opening of the new pier in the historic town of Falmouth has ensured more visitors to the island. Various tour operators, Jamaica rentals communities in the vicinity including Silver Sands Jamaica, are upbeat about the new business opportunities the influx of visitors will bring.
