Jamaica Tourism Convention Draws International Media Interest

Next month, October, Jamaica is hosting the 19th Caribbean Media Exchange (CMEx), an event that has drawn a fair share of media interest not only on the island but in international circuits including North America and Europe.

International journalists are increasingly showing interest to participate in the events. Apart from the journalists, people enthusiastic about agri-tourism, faith-based tourism and other tourism linkage initiatives are also upbeat about the event which is due to take place in Kingston.

The theme of the convention is ‘Tourism: linkages for growth.’ It will explore newer forms of tourism such as the faith tourism and sports tourism markets.

John Lynch, director of tourism and the chairman of the Jamaica Tourism Board said, “This conference presents an ideal forum for us to work together with our various stakeholders to strengthen the existing linkages and forge new alliances.”

With the interest generated in the sustainable tourism conference, the island is likely to receive more visitors. For those who plan to visit Jamaica, there is available a wide range of Jamaica accommodation, from hotels and resorts to Jamaica rentals, including villas, cottages and Jamaica apartments.
