The annual Stir It Up film and music festival will be held from 31 Aug to 3 Sep 2011 at Rose Hall Great House in Montego Bay.

The festival will see the participation of film and music industry professionals from African, Caribbean and Pacific countries.

The events will include performances, screenings, workshops and conferences on film, music and other topics related to Caribbean culture and world music. Emerging musicians and film-makers, who have been chosen by online voters and experts, will also perform live and screen their work.

This year, the festival will feature names including Chronic Jester, JeBron, Kotadama’s Chris and Evan Brown, Lazo, Marcus, Muza, Napoleon Da Legend, Radio la Chusma, Rayandra, and Zion TPL, among others.

Montego Bay is one of the leading tourist destinations in Jamaica. It was voted as the leading beach destination in the world for the year 2010, at the World Travel Awards ceremony held in London. Aside from the beaches, visitors can also spend fun time at the famous ‘Hip Strip’ with an interesting line up of bars, restaurants, clubs and stores. The second largest town in Jamaica, Montego Bay is also a Mecca for the golf enthusiasts, offering four world-class golf courses.

There is much to do and see in Montego Bay, a town which is at an easy driving distance from Silver Sands villas. Guests who wish to explore the town can easily plan a day trip, enjoy the festival and then be back to the comfort of their own special Jamaica villa or cottage.
