My wife and I and our son and daughter in law spent the recent holidays at Hangtime Villa, part of the Silver Sands Villas -- it was a wonderful trip! We were picked up at Montego Bay airport by Melvin, who took us to a local supermarket for some shopping on the way back to the villa. Our was a three bedroom villa, each room with its own en suite bathroom -- all bedrooms open to a well kept pool, which was amazing! The house is probably 30 years old, so the bathrooms and finishes weren't super luxurious, but it was perfect for us. Ingrid (cook) and Lucille (housekeeper) were incredible! They were sweet, unobtrusive, and offered great service -- Lucille even came down to the beach to find us and brought us lunch! Ingrid prepared a delicious breakfast that we ate poolside every day, and prepared dinner for us to reheat every evening (she and Lucille left at 5PM). The food was fresh and delicious.
The beach was a 7 minute walk down a hill (if we didn't feel like walking, we had use of a golf cart!) -- the beach was clean, the water was beautiful! There's a bar and grill right on the beach for lunch and cocktails! There's also a fishing village a short walk from SIlver Sands which was delightful -- local craftsmen, super fresh fish, and lots of local color!We played board games in the evening -- the villa was equipped with cable tv and internet. If you're looking for a low key, relaxing vacation with a chance to not do very much, this is the place to go!

Another Great Stay at Hang Time Silver Sands
We (two couples, early 60’s) stayed at Hang Time, Silver Sands March 31 – April 11th. This is our 4th stay at Hang Time and our 6th stay at Silver Sands.
I can’t say enough about Silver Sands as a whole. It is paradise on earth.
Silver Sands is a gated community of private homes (villas) about 35 minutes from the Montego Airport and near the port of Falmouth. Safety and security are never an issue.
You can choose to rent a villa with or without a private pool, beachfront or an easy walk to the beach as the community is built on a gradual hillside slope. Most villas have a spectacular view of the beach.
All rentals include a housekeeper and a cook/chef to prepare your meals, tidy up and take care of all your needs.
The concept is brilliant! It is like your own private all-inclusive resort.
There is a well stocked small grocery store on the property and the prices are comparable to larger grocery stores and they will even deliver your order to your villa. In addition a fruit and vegetable man comes by your door 3 times a week with fresh veggies and delicious fresh fruit for sale. Want fish or lobster (in season) for dinner? The staff will arrange to have it have it delivered to your door and prepare the most exquisite meal.
The friendly Silver Sands staff are always smiling and are very friendly, happy to arrange tours, private transportation etc. and answer any questions.
You can purchase drinks at the beachfront bar and snacks/lunch from the small beach hut restaurant. Awesome Jerk chicken!
The beach has boogie boards and paddle boards available free of charge and a Life Guard on duty.
The beach access is gradual and all sand. You can walk out for quite a while before it gets over your hips. There is very little seaweed on shore and it is raked every day.
The sand flies can be bothersome to some people so spray repellent on your legs and feet. Mosquitoes in April when we went weren’t bad. It is the Caribbean after all and some insects are to be expected.
You never have any problem securing a beach chair and there are several Tiki huts for shade. Honestly, the most people we saw on the beach were 12 and it is like that every year. Your very own private all-inclusive. The beach is naturally protected at each end so the only way to gain access is via the secured entrance at the gatehouse or by boat so you are not challenged by beach vendors.
There is no better value for the money.
We love Hang Time Villa for several reasons:
• Ingrid our chef and Lucille our housekeeper are like family. Two wonderful hard working lovely ladies who make us feel right at home. Oh the meals they prepare!!!
• A 4 person golf cart is included
• We love the villa layout, 3 bedrooms open out to the pool with ocean view
• The villa is open and airy
• The pool is in the sun all day
• There is a rooftop deck with beautiful views
• AC and internet work great
• Because it is higher on the hillside you feel a constant warm breeze all day which is lovely
• Very quiet location, only one villa next door which wasn’t rented while we were there
Silver Sands is a very well run, professional development and is continually striving to improve its facilities and services based on customer feedback. We have seen many improvements in the 6 years we have been visiting. You won’t be disappointed if you choose Silver Sands and Hang Time Villa for your next vacation."
