Why You Should Vacation in a Villa with a Cook
Every Mysilversands villa includes a dedicated cook and housekeeping. Choose your meals—or leave it to your cook. Groceries at local prices with receipts if your cook shops for you. No chores, just time together.
Family-run in Jamaica. Thousands of relaxed meals served at Silver Sands.

A holiday where nobody cooks or cleans—yet you eat better than ever.
How it works
- Tell us your preferences — Favourites, allergies, vegan/vegetarian, kid-friendly dishes, spice level.
- Plan light or go hands-off — Pick a few must-have dishes, or say “Surprise us with Jamaican home cooking.”
- Your cook shops & cooks — Fresh ingredients from market/supermarket; meals prepared and kitchen handled. Receipts shown; you pay grocery cost only. Of course, you may do your own shopping.
- Eat together, no clean-up — Meals served family-style. Linger, laugh, and leave the dishes behind.
Most guests do two meals a day (big breakfast + dinner) and keep lunch simple—fruit, patties, leftovers, or a beach snack.
How you eat is up to you: your cook can serve at the table, or set out dinner family-style.

Heads up: Staff numbers, duties, and hours vary by villa. Check your villa’s

Don't forget to advise your villa cook of any allergies and special dietary requirements.
Groceries & costs (simple and transparent)
- You pay actual grocery cost at local prices.
- Your cook shops where it makes sense—market, supermarket, fish vendor.
- Receipts are shown and reconciled during your stay.
- Provide a starting float or approve a daily budget—whichever you prefer.

FAQ
Do all villas have the same staff service?
No. Every Mysilversands villa includes cooking and housekeeping, but staff numbers, duties, and hours vary by villa. Examples:
- Smaller villas: Often one person handles both cooking and housekeeping. Typical hours may be 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. If you want dinner after staff hours, you can reheat/serve the prepared dishes yourselves.
- Many mid-range villas: Usually a dedicated cook and a housekeeper. Hours may be longer or more flexible; dinner can often be served earlier or later by arrangement.
- More luxurious villas: Larger teams (e.g., cook(s), housekeeper(s), houseman/butler). Meal times are very flexible, and some villas have staff who remain overnight in private staff quarters for early breakfasts or late dinners.
Please check the Staff & Hours details on each villa’s page for the exact arrangement for that property.
Is the cook included in the villa rate?
Yes. Cooking and housekeeping are included. You pay only for groceries at cost.
How many meals per day?
Up to you. Most guests choose breakfast and dinner, keeping lunch light. Your cook will match your routine.
Dietary needs and allergies?
Handled with care. Tell us in advance and we’ll plan around it.
Timing and privacy?
Agree meal times with your cook. Staff are professional and discreet—tidy up and give you space.
Can we eat out sometimes?
Of course. Your cook can adjust the plan and recommend local spots.
Tipping?
Tipping is customary in Jamaica for good service. We’ll share current guidance before your trip.
Can we help cook or learn a dish?
Many guests enjoy learning—your cook can show you a simple recipe like festival or a jerk marinade.
