As different from the beach as day is to night, this tour will give you a great feel for Jamaica, as you traverse the island, first along the North Coast and then deep into the interior, over the hills, through to the suburbs of Kingston, and up to Whitfield Hall Hostel nestled in the foothills of the Blue Mountains.

You may simply relax at Whitfield Hall and enjoy the natural beauty of the forest, spending the night as if you were camping. Take leisurely strolls around the trails at Whitfield Hall, while others who want to feel a great sense of accomplishment may climb to the highest peak in Jamaica and sit on top of the island.

Whitfield Hall is six and a half miles below the peak. It is a working coffee property with the Hostel, formerly an old "Great House", and a secluded two bedroom cottage. The accommodation in the Hostel is for thirty-three people and in the cottage for up to eight persons. All bed linen and blankets are provided, but you have to carry your own towels. Cooking facilities, including crockery, etc., are provided but you will be required to bring and cook your own food. Refrigeration for perishables is provided. Cooking and meals can be provided by prior arrangement.

The path from Whitfield Hall to the peak is good, but guides may be arranged.

Most people like to climb to the peak during the night, leaving Whitfield Hall about 2:00 am in order to arrive at the peak for sunrise, and returning to the hostel for a late breakfast.
