Endless Summer Villa, Silver Sands Jamaica

Seven bedrooms on the sea, and one table big enough for all of you.

Endless Summer Villa seen from the sea at Silver Sands, Jamaica

Endless Summer sits right on the water at Silver Sands, on Jamaica's north coast. A cook makes every meal and serves it to you. A housekeeper does the rooms every day. The houseman lives on the property, and he's a licensed lifeguard, so the kayaks and paddleboards come with someone who knows the water.

Built for a crowd

This is a house for the whole family, three generations at once, a big birthday, a wedding party or a team that's had a long year. It usually sleeps 14. With our okay, and depending on the group, extra chairs and a second table take it up to 18.

Every bedroom has its own bathroom and air conditioning, so nobody queues for a shower in the morning.

You don't have to fill it. You can book anything from one bedroom to all seven. The rooms you don't book stay closed, and the house is still yours.

Where everyone ends up

The living room at Endless Summer with the shutter open to the pool deck and the sea

The living room has a motorised shutter instead of a wall. Open it and the room, the pool deck and the sea become one space. That's where a big group ends up most evenings.

The dining table seats 14, and there's a second table when you need it.

The seven bedrooms

Every room has air conditioning, a fan, insect screens on the windows and a mosquito net if you want one.

Bedrooms 1 to 4 are on the street level. Bedrooms 5, 6 and 7 are upstairs, up a steep spiral staircase. If anyone in your group struggles with stairs, give them a room downstairs.

Every meal cooked and served

Send us your menu choices a few days before you arrive. The cook or the houseman shops locally and in Falmouth, and you settle the itemised grocery bill when you get here. After that, the food just turns up.

Guests eating lunch, served by the staff, under the cabana on the seafront at Endless Summer

Rather eat by the sea? The staff will serve lunch down at the cabana.

Breakfast might be ackee and saltfish with fried dumpling, mackerel run down, banana pancakes, or eggs any way you like them. Dinner might be curry goat, escovitch fish, jerk chicken off the grill, oxtail, or lobster when it's in season. Ask for something that isn't on the list and the cook will have a go.

Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and allergies are all fine. Tell us before you arrive. Meals are served family style at the big table, and dinner is on by 8pm at the latest. There's no butler service. Nobody stands behind your chair.

The house keeps itself

The housekeeper cleans the bedrooms and bathrooms every day. Put your laundry out in the morning and it comes back washed and ironed the same day.

The houseman lives on the property. He's there when you arrive and when you leave, he helps with whatever comes up in between, and he goes out with you on the water.

When the group is big, we bring in extra staff. You don't have to ask, and you don't pay for them.

On the sea

The pools are about 15 yards from the water. Coconut trees shade the seafront, and there are hammocks, a cabana, lounge chairs and a swing. Right now there's sand in front of the house, and you can swim straight off it. The sea moves sand around, so that can change. The main swimming beach is a short walk along the shore either way.

There are two solar-heated pools. The plunge pool is about 25 by 10 feet and 5 feet deep. It's good for cooling off and too short for laps. The mini-pool gets properly warm on a sunny day.

Free to use, with the lifeguard

  • Stand-up paddleboards
  • A double kayak, a single kayak and a child's kayak
  • Bodyboards for adults and children
  • Mask, fins and snorkel sets, and full-face snorkel masks
  • Flotation devices

Ask the houseman when you want to go out. Everyone signs a short waiver first.

The seafront is shared ground at Silver Sands. If you want to hold an event on it, a vow renewal say, Silver Sands management has to agree first. We'll ask for you.

Bringing small children

We keep a proper cot, a high chair, a baby bath, an all-terrain pushchair, a pack 'n play, a padded potty seat with a step, toys, and a wide play yard we can set up on the seafront. There's a pool fence that fits across the living room doorway to the pool deck. We put it up or take it down as you need.

Tell us what you want before you arrive and it'll be ready.

Getting around the house

We'll be straight with you. Endless Summer was built in the 1970s, and it isn't fully wheelchair accessible. There's no wheelchair-accessible toilet or shower.

What there is: a concrete ramp with handrails from the driveway to the front door, and timber ramps on the street level to the four downstairs bedrooms, the living room, dining room, kitchen and pool deck. Two street-level showers have grab rails. We can add a raised toilet seat, a bath seat with a back and arms, and a beach wheelchair. Ask us about anyone's needs and we'll tell you honestly whether it works.

The practical bits

  • Power. A standby generator runs the whole house, air conditioning included, if the power goes. There's a reserve water tank too.
  • Internet. Starlink, with a second connection as a backup.
  • Mosquitoes. Screens on every window, nets over the beds on request, and repellent mats in every bedroom.
  • Keeping fit. Yoga mats, blocks, dumbbells, a barbell and a weight bench. There's a tennis court in the community.
  • Pets. Welcome if you ask us first. Dogs on a lead.
  • Arriving and leaving. Check in from 2pm. Check out any time before 4pm, so the last day isn't a rush. Earlier or later can often be arranged.
  • Airport. Free transfers from Montego Bay airport when you stay 7 nights or more.
  • Minimum stay. It changes with demand. Ask us about your dates.

What you pay, and how

The price you see includes the Jamaican taxes and fees, the staff, and the house. There's no booking fee and no surcharge for paying by card. The one extra is your groceries, which you pay for on arrival against an itemised bill.

A 20% deposit holds the house. It isn't refundable. After that, anyone in your group can log in and pay any amount, any time, until 30 days before you arrive. We take Visa, Mastercard and Amex, and bank transfer. There's also a US$500 security deposit, paid with the final balance and refunded within 7 days of departure if nothing's damaged.

Hurricane Guarantee. If the Government of Jamaica issues a hurricane warning before your stay starts, you can cancel for a full refund or move your dates to any time in the next 18 months. If a warning comes while you're here, you'll need to leave, and we refund the nights you didn't use.
