A few things worth mentioning about the property that in no way should reflect upon the staff. We had a delay in Mobay on our arrival (flat tire and hit rush hour). The initial plan was to be there around 430 say hi and let them get on with their evening at home. I communicated we would be late by around 4pm and said see you all in the morning. We were told there would be a key at the front gate and no problem. When we arrived, the key didn't open any of the exterior locks (to the confusion of us and the gate staff) and they had to call Tricia in around 9pm to open the doors by way of the staff entrance. It wasn't the introduction any of us wanted. Second thing was the freezer. About 2nd day, freezer stopped freezing. Owner had a repair guy come same day and he says it needs replacement. We are huge water drinkers so ice is a must on vacation. Third day, same repair guy, same story. They used the freezer in the staff area for food but ice cubes were very limited (and slow) due to space issues for the rest of the week..

All in, great bang for the buck if you know how to plan your menu. Highly suggest spending days dodging waves with your kids on the beach. Watched the stupid Tyson fight with the staff at the beach bar one night. Go to the fisherman's village next to the resort for fresh fish and some decent wood carvings. Tawdlahs bar and Leroys place can offer alternatives to the beach bar at Silver Sands. There are miles and miles of roads and shoreline to explore just outside of the resort. Silver Sands was great, Winedown I think is the cheapest property on site so temper your expectations. Awesome value and we had a wonderful time.
