sunrise from this location is spectacular!

Cons: Summertime is advertised as 24/7 staff with a Chef/Cook/Maid. We met the Chef on the first night and didn’t see him for the next 10 days! Our staff worked 9 to 5. This Villa is NOT 24/7 staffed as advertised.

The Villa is kept clean, but it is very dated. The bathrooms are from the 1970’s. It was functional and clean, but clearly dated.

The pool stayed cloudy the entire 10 days. I did try working with the pool boy, but he didn’t have any chemicals to resolve the problem. So we all swam in a pool that was cloudy. (Too much chlorine. PH way too high)

Again, The beach is beautiful! However, the bar and restaurant was rarely opened. And when it was, the staff was very rude to us and only stayed open for a couple of hours. When we told them we would be coming down for lunch, they closed up. As if they simply didn’t want to work. I’m not sure why Silver Sands has them operating on the property. I reported this to the Silver Sands staff, but they did nothing to resolve. They stated the bar/restaurant was not a part of Silver Sands. As that may be true, they should request some
Standard of service from them if they are going to operate on the property.

I had reserved the Clubhouse for a dinner party on Sunday for 34 people. I was quoted a small fee to pay the maintenance staff. No problem. However, I was a little taken back when they helped themselves to our dinner without asking. (Had they asked, I would have certainly given them a plate. But the fact they just helped themselves took me by surprise.) They were required to stay until the dinner party was over, but left 1 hour early. Again, not an issue, but I was not offered a refund or discount. I clearly did NOT get the service I was promised. Very disappointing!

Bedroom AC worked perfectly. Minimal mosquitos were encountered. Beds/mattresses and pillows were comfortable.
Patio and pool seating areas, and furniture were comfortable. The fans and the coolness of the pool were sufficient to remove much of the heat and humidity we were in.
Landscaping was well done and provided us the privacy we desired.
And the views from the patio to the Sea were spectacular.
Con's: The "cable" for the Summertime tv's would sometimes show various error messages preventing us from watching tv whether in the bedrooms or living room. Not a big deal since it was seldom we turned them on.
Kitchen fridge (and freezer) were not as cold as we were accustomed to (here in the US-Arizona). Water and beers (when we had them) had to be placed in the freezer overnight to get to the desired cold, drinkable temperature. And finally, the construction taking place next door and across the street, did disrupt our stay.

Overall - This is my third stay at Summertime, however, for this trip I was the "host." The other three (3) couples had previously been to Jamaica (at all-inclusive's), though, this was their first time at Silversands. All-in-all, and disregarding some of the challenges faced in aligning with our well-in-advance desired/requested food choices (menu), fridge/freezer temperature and construction noise, the stay was great. So yes, we will visit Silversands again in the near future.
